Press Release Regarding Participation of Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in the 5th Ministerial Conference of Istanbul Process

H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey will attend the 5th Session of the Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process on Afghanistan, to be hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad on 9 December 2015.

Acting from the conviction that the problems encountered by Afghanistan necessitates regional solutions and therefore aiming to reinforce regional cooperation and solidarity, the Istanbul Process was created at the “Istanbul Conference for Afghanistan” held on 2 November 2011 under the lead of Turkey in collaboration with Afghanistan. Turkey maintains its active role in the Istanbul Process.

13 regional countries including Turkey as well as the representatives of regional and international organisations are expected to participate in the upcoming Ministerial Conference to be co-chaired by Afghanistan and Pakistan. Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will hold also bilateral meetings with the participating Foreign Ministers, in the margins of the Conference.
